Introduction to the chosen leader
Marvin R. Ellison is the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Lowe’s
Companies Inc., a fortune 500 home improvement company with more than 2,200 stores and
approximately 300,000 associates in both the United States and Canada. Marvin has been the
C.E.O of Lowe’s Companies Inc. since 2018 and before that; he was the C.E.O of JC Penney. As
an organizational leader, Marvin has over 35 years of retail leadership and operational
experience (Howland, 2018). He also has extensive experience in the home improvement
industry, having spent more than a decade in a senior-level operations role with Home Depot Inc.
Over the years of his experience, Marvin has recorded outstanding performance as an
organization leader in various capacities and different organizations.
