The length of a rectangle is 2 more than 3 times its width.  Find the dimensions of the rectangle if the perimeter is 44 in

length=2+3x

width=x

perimeter=2(l+w)

44=2(2+3x+x)

44=2(2+4x)

44=4+8x

40=8x

x=5

length=2+3x=2+3*5=17

width=x=5
