A 200 mL solution of sugar water has a sugar concentration of 40%.  How many mL of pure water must be added to the solution to reduce the concentration to 10%?

if 200ml= 40%

  ?=10%

this will give us  (40x200)/10

= 800ml

the number of ml to be added will be

(800-200)ml= 600ml of pure water should be added.
