The purpose of an annotated bibliography is to help you put articles into your own words. This should help you learn how to properly write a paper without plagiarizing. The specified format for this is to... At the top of page cite the article, website, chapter/book, etc...using APA format. IF you don’t know how to do that, you should purchase a book that will help you with that. You can also use TU’s Library’s website or Purdue OWL. By doing this you will get feedback on what you are doing so that you can correct any errors prior to submitting your final paper. Then you should summarize the entire item (in your own words). Your summary should be no longer than 250 words-this is approximately one page double spaced. If you are going over that for a longer/larger item, it may be ok---but it is a sign you are not getting your item into your own words. Lastly-you are to critique the article. The items you should consider critiquing are highlighted below in the chart. This will probably be one-two paragraphs. At some point in this AB, you may want to indicate what might be extremely useful in your paper. EG- the table on page 32 would be helpful in showing possible treatments. OR—The data provided in the first three paragraphs highlight critical elements of epidemiology. While I only collect four articles/ABs from you—you should actually do this for every article, web site, chapter, etc...that you use.
