The role of women in Ancient Greece

Her role
A woman had few rights compared to men citizens in the ancient Greek civilization. Her
ideal role was at home, and her function in life was to raise children. She was not allowed to
vote, possess land, or inherit it. Ancient Greece's culture nourished and nurtured its degrading
status for a woman. A woman had numerous problems and challenges, particularly in marriage,
heritage, and social life. Ancient Greece had a past which is seen as male rather than female. A
woman had limited input on important choices in ancient Greek culture. The option to select who
to marry is denied to her. It was extremely unjust and hard to distribute and own the heritage.
Her behavior
A woman under these ideal roles behaved submissively by remaining in the house. She
responded by engaging in prostitution, slavery, or destitute on the streets. This woman's social
life typically reflected the subjective feminine image, in which she was barred from engaging in
external activities involving men. One of the woman's principal duties was to bear children,
