Introduction
Americans with Disability Act (ADA) is a civil rights law that got passed in the year
1990. The law describes and forbids discrimination against people with disabilities in all aspects
of life including schools, transportation and the workplace (DongWoo Lee, 2007). It also bans
discrimination in private and public areas free for the public to visit. The protections cover
discrimination based on gender, race, color, religion, age and national origin of the disabled. The
law was later advanced to American with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) in the year
2009 to cover employees in the work environment.
