Things to Be Done Before the Change
Managing change in an organization might be challenging. Before our company changes
its organizational structure there is a list of things that ought to be done. First of all the top
leadership of the company should have identified the reasons for change (Barlett and Ghoshal,
1989). The objectives as to why the company wants to transit to matrix structure should be clear.
The possible achievements of the new structure should also be reviewed.
A transition team should also be established upon realizing the need for change. The
team’s duty is to ensure that the company achieves the organizational structure required. It
should consist of managers and employees who believe in the company’s goals in the transition.
The transition team should then prepare a blueprint regarding the change. The layout plan should
explain why the company needs matrix structure and when the new structure will be complete
(Barlett and Ghoshal, 1989). This is done so that everyone involved will follow. The document
also has to entail how the workers will fit into the new structure
