In the current era, it has been evident that there is a general increase in the number of
workers in the U.S because of the high rate of immigration hence there has also been a high rate
in competition for employment posts. However, there has been a decline in the number of a
worker in various industries since most of the graduates have an adverse perception on these
jobs. It has hence resulted in a shortage of labour supply in critical working areas, for instance,
there has been a limit of drivers receiving adequate assistance from vehicle technicians. The
scarcity of the workforce supply arises since there are a very few vehicle mechanics which
makes it hard to satisfy mechanical defaults in most of the car breakdowns that drivers daily
experience.
The reduction in labour supply in various fields of study has urged some organizations
like Technical and Maintenance Trucking Association in increasing awareness on the need of
expertise such as vehicle technicians in this area of working. Also, Coal mining which provides
the U.S with more than half of the energy it requires has started experiencing a shortage in labour
supply which has, in turn, resulted in a decrease of coal energy being provided (Blackburn &
