Description

I need a research paper covering the process of cellular respiration and what it is used for. It needs to be in APA format and use at least 2 citations. There is not strict guidelines to follow here as long as the topic is thoroughly covered. I would like it to follow the following format: Intro; background about what cellular respiration is and just introduce what is used to start the process and what the end product is. Body: outline the steps in cellular respiration and detail what is done in each step. (i.e.: Glycolysis: ...) Conclusion: restate what cellular respiration is and why we need it to live.

CELLULAR RESPIRATION

Background
Cellular respiration is the metabolic process that entails breaking down glucose and
producing ATP. The ATP molecule is the sole carrier of energy (Cellular Respiration and
Carcinogenesis, 2014). This process produces energy in cells, distributing molecules which are
essential in making the metabolic reactions of an organism to take place. The stages involved in
the cellular respiration include; glycolysis, pyruvate oxidation, the Krebs cycle which is also
referred to as the citric acid and finally the oxid ation phosphorylation.

Stage 1: Glycolysis
The glycolysis a metabolic step consolidates a platform for both aerobic and anaerobic
respirations. The first step of glycolysis stage involves the glucose ring getting phosphorylated.
This process is when a phosphate group gets added to a molecule resulting in the ATP. This
reaction takes place with the aid of hexokinase enzyme which catalyzes the phosphorylation of
several six-membered glucose -like ring structures. The second step in glycolysis entails
converting glucose-6-phospahte to fructose-6-phosphate. This process takes place because of the
phosphoglucose isomerase enzyme whereby it in cooperates isomerization reaction.
The fructose-6-phosphate gets converted to fructose 1,6-bisphophate....
