Now you will develop the final paper in which you explore your main points in detail.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

  1. Introduce your paper with your previously crafted thesis statement.
  2. Discuss two (2) international events involving the US military from the past five (5) years that can be traced back to a foreign policy created after the Civil War.
  3. Discuss three (3) aspects of US history since 1865 that has led to the US’s rise as a world super power policeman.
  4. Identify three to five (3-5) international incidents since World War II where America has taken on a policing role.
  5. Determine three to five (3-5) driving forces that fueled international policy decisions involving the international incidents you outlined previously. (Consider treaties, exit strategies, elections, wars, etc.)
  6. Use at least three (3) academic references besides or in addition to the textbook. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Introduction
The United States has had a superpower position following the Second World War
whereby it was involved in bombing the Hiroshima and Nagasaki cities in Japan thereby ending
the war. It then was involved in fighting communism which was being undertaken by the Soviet
Union in other countries. This then led to the cold war between the United States and the Soviet
Union. The United Nations was formed with the aim of preventing another world war and due to
the economic and military capability of the United States, it got involved in maintaining peace
among countries through its central intelligence agency. Recently, the military of the United
States has been engaged in some global peace mediation programs. It has led the promotion of
peace in nations that have constantly been fighting. Some of these occurrences comprise of the
combat in Afghanistan and the domestic fighting in Syria.
International events involving the U.S military associated with foreign policy formed after
the civil war
There has been the involvement of the United States to discontinue the development of
atomic weapons in nations such as North Korea, Sudan, Venezuela, Iran, Syria, Belarus, and
China. This is seen in the international policies that America formed following the civil war
which tends to regulate the formation of nuclear weaponry (Stephens, 2015). Other nations are
prohibited from forming these kinds of weapons since they jeopardize the worldwide peace.
There is also the formation of the strategic defense initiative with the purpose of protecting the
United States from attack by flying atomic weaponry. This was mainly concentrating on
defending America from other nations with nuclear weapons and not attacking them. It is
