Which element would have the greater difference between the first ionization energy and the second ionization energy?
(a)potassium
(b)calcium
(c)Both should have the same differences because they are in the same period of the periodic table.

The answer is A potassium because it only has 1 outer orbital electron that it can get rid of easily without losing stability. it would actually gain stability and as for the second ionization energy, after taking away the first ion it is more stable like Calcium and it would be way harder to take away another electron because of how stable it it.
