Description
The Annotated Bibliography
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate progress in compiling research and to indicate a methodology for organizing your research sources.
Include the following in your annotated bibliography:
- APA citations and annotations for four (4) sources you deem relevant to answering your research question and addressing your thesis; however, you are only required to reference three (3) scholarly sources in your final research paper.
For each source:
- List the source in proper APA format. The references should be organized in alphabetical order by author as on an APA bibliography page.
- Follow the source with a brief annotation that summarizes the source information (approximately 3–5 sentences). You may quote briefly from the source,
but do not copy and paste from the abstract. Include internal citations as needed. - In 1 or 2 sentences, explain and evaluate the source’s relevance and significance to your thesis. Does the information from this source support
or discredit your thesis? - Use an academic tone and style.

Allen & Cowdery (2014) are the authors of the book, and they write an extensive guide
for early childhood teachers, parents, and clinicians in order to administer a viable setting for
children with or without special needs. It also addresses issues faced while providing education
to young children, including how to effectively teach a group of children who are challenged
either physically, cognitively, and socially. In the book, there is an elaboration on applying
developmental behavioral-approach that leads to effective classroom management. Moreover,
teachers are guided on ways that they can be able to interpret the relationship of language and
early brain development so as to take learners through early childhood education (Allen &
Cowdery, 2014).
In my view, the book comes in handy in my essay since it has broadly elaborated on
issues that individuals involved in the dissemination of early childhood knowledge face.
Inclusion is also a crucial factor in early childhood development that ensures every child’s
capabilities and interests are accepted by other children while learning. The information is also
relevant in my essay on early childhood education. It talks about ways that teachers and parents
can create an environment that gives room for every child to acquire appropriate developmental
learning opportunities.
