Introduction
Performance management system is an integral part of the human resource management.
As the manager of the Human Resource, I would love to offer a proposal on the strategy to be
adopted in the performance evaluation of the employees (Rummler & Brache, 1995). The
objective of the performance appraisal plan is to improve the performance of the employees and
ensure that achievement of both the personal and organizational goals. The proposal will cover a
description of the categories of the types to be analyzed, the ratings to be used, an example of the
evaluation form that will be applied and a critical explanation of the recommendations.
Description of the categories to be measured
The types of measurement will depend on the performance management goals. It is,
therefore, important to identify the goals and the objectives of the performance management
system. Firstly, the purpose of the scheme is to improve the organization level of return.
Secondly, it looks forward to improving the individuals’ level of performance (Sung & Ashton,
2005). Additionally, is to encourage the employees to develop the standard of performance. Most
importantly, the appraisal looks forward to increasing the degree of motivation and the
engagement of the employees. Finally, the evaluation program seeks to inform the performance
pay decisions.
