Introduction
In this paper, the major point of focus is Anorexia Nervosa one of the many eating
disorders that people suffer from. The paper is structured into the analysis of the causes,
consequences, and treatment and support of Anorexia Nervosa. Even though the causes of
anorexia are not fully determined, the paper will tackle the social-cultural, biological, and
psychological factors which are mostly attributed to the disorder. The consequences of the
anorexia to be examined include the psychosocial, medical, and physical danger. The
Anorexia is mostly prevalence among the young female. It is estimated that 90 percent of the
people diagnosed are female.
Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia Nervosa refers to a serious eating disorder that is marked by low weight,
fear to add more weight, a big desire to stay thin, and food restriction (Frozena & Schub,
2016). In other words, it is an eating disorder marked by a strong fear of gaining more weight
and it may result in serious ill-health and finally death. There is this fear of people gaining
weight because they want to maintain a certain look.
There are people who are naturally thin and make others feel that they have the wrong
body because they are fat or have extra weight. If a person does not have self-confidence and
their self-esteem is low, they will be convinced and try to look a certain way. They will take
harsh chemicals, refuse to eat or induce vomiting to prevent the body from attaining all the
nutrients it needs. This result to thinning in an unhealthy way which has serious
consequences to the body of a person. People with Anorexia Nervosa normally maintain their
body by restricting the amount of food intake, doing more exercise, and even vomiting.

Difference between Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa

Even though both are eating disorders, they have numerous differences. For instance,
anorexia is caused by food restriction to the body whereas bulimia is caused by ingesting a
large amount of food and followed by induced vomiting (Frozena & Schub, 2016). On the
other hand, the sufferers of anorexia go through a cycle of less eating whereas the sufferers
‘of bulimia goes through a cycle of overeating. Despite both causing dead, bulimia is more
dangerous as compared to anorexia.
