Cortical Deafness – Neurosensory Disorder
Cortical Deafness is the disorder of the auditory system in which there is no damage to
the anatomy of the human ear but the areas of the inner ear where sounds coming from different
stimulus are processed. Primary auditory cortex is primarily involved in processing auditory
information in the brain and bilateral cortical lesions of primary auditory cortex may cause this
rare form of auditory deafness (Brody, R. M., Nicholas, B. D., Wolf, M. J., Marcinkevich, P. B.,
