Dear Lynnette,
I am writing to express my ideas on the qualities of a successful leader and compare them
to my leadership characteristics. I will also recommend how to lead and foster teamwork. One of
the qualities of a successful leader is practical communication skills. Successful leaders can
communicate clearly and accurately to their subordinates about the organization's objectives and
specific tasks that should be performed (Kotagal & Pellegrini, 2018). They demonstrate
appropriate listening skills and can effectively use verbal and non-verbal communication while
talking to other individuals.
Integrity is another essential quality of a successful leader. Leaders must stand on what is
right and legal regardless of their interest or the situation. Successful leaders do not compromise
with the organizational values or with what they say. The other quality is confidence. Every
successful leader should be confident. Confident leaders believe in themselves. They understand
that they are competent and possess practical skills to lead others.
The ability to delegate is another quality that every successful leader has. A successful
leader understands that they cannot do everything by themselves. Therefore, they wisely delegate
duties to their subordinates. The other quality of a good leader is effective decision-making skills
