2000 monte carlo, runs great but won't always start. wouldn't start in the evening, started fine next morning and for the next 2 days then wouldn't start again. has lights and radio but won't turn over. email@example.com
I have found this is a pretty common problem with a lot of people. Here are some possible causes of this problem you are having:
-You may need a new battery
-There is something wrong with the cables that connect the battery to the starter. This is the thickest cable in your car’s electrical system, and carries the most current. It is also the most susceptible to corrosion.
-It could be a problem with the ignition cylinder or a passlock issue
I hope this was helpful and I wish you the best of luck!
Yea it could be that the starter is going out. This is currently happening to my boyfriends car where it starts most of the time but not always and he was convinced it was the fuel pump but its in the shop right now and they cant figure out what is wrong with it. There really is just so many things that could cause the car to start sometimes but not others. During the times when you car does turn over is there anything different about that moment such as is it hot outside or cold outside or even raining?
