There are organizations that evaluate the quality and performance of healthcare organizations. I am interested in JCAHO. Specifically I would like some information regarding (1) the criteria or methodology utilized to measure quality or performance; (2) the intended audience for the quality reports. Is there a fee to view the reports? Is the website the only method of accessing this material? (3) Assessing the validity or reliability of this service; (4) the usefulness of the website. Does your impression change if you think from the perspective of a consumer instead of a provider?
