I am in tandem with Advances in Psychiatric Treatment for publication of Iveson, C.
(2002) Solution-focused brief therapy. However, there are serious issues that are not captured n
the article that I need to address. Solution focused therapy has been applied to patients with
mental health problems who do not want to see a psychiatrist. Many patients are shy of seeing a
psychiatrist because of the belief that they could be thought to be mad by the general population.
Therefore, this method offered another opportunity for such patients. Through solution focused
therapy has been quietly spread in institutions of healthcare, there are still serious problems that
are not addressed concerning the adoption of this treatment method.
