Determine the number of positive real, negative real, and imaginary zeros for the function

f(x)= x^4 - x^2 - 6

f(x)= x4 - x2 – 6

= x4 -3 x2 +2 x2 – 6

= x2(x2-3)+2(x2-3)

= (x2-3)(x2+2)

(x2-3)(x2+2)=0

x2  =3 or x2  = -2

x = ±√3 or x = ± i √2
