Find the equation of the line with a slope of -3 and passing though the point (4,12)

Oct 23rd, 2017

Eq of line   y = mx+x=c

Slope, m = -3 given , hence Equation is y = -3x+C

TO find the value of C , Let us proceed as follows

line is passing through (4,12)

substitute , y =-3x+C  ;  12  = -3*4+C solving we get C = 24

hence Equation of Line is : y= -3x+24 or 3x+y = 24 (answer)
