1. Healthcare ecosystem
a. Comprehensively discuss all of the industries in the healthcare ecosystem
Ecosystems in the health industry are potent forces that can reshape the industry. An ecosystem within the
healthcare industry is used to personalize and integrate a vast experience with customers. They are also used to
enhance provider productivity and engage informal and formal caregivers. All participants in the healthcare
ecosystem including; patients, suppliers, service providers, local state government, and the federal government

companies. The different sectors involved are connected through a standard commercial model as well as a virtual

e. What is the role of digital disruptors in the ecosystem?
Digital disruption in the healthcare ecosystem is a positive element that has been brought by technology.
Some of the concrete examples of digital transformation include telemedicine, blockchain electronic health records,
and Artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled medical devices (Srivastava et al.). These technologies have completely
reshaped how patients interact with health care providers. The technologies have also shaped how health consumers
share information, treatment plans, and health outcomes with their physicians. The main goal of digital disruption is
to streamline the physicians' work, improve patient outcomes, optimize systems, reduce human error and ultimately
reduce costs. Therefore, digital technologies create improved consumer and stakeholder experiences.
g. How will digitization play an important role in patient medical records?
The digitization of patient records has many advantages for both healthcare providers and patients. For the
patients, digital record keeping eliminates the need to carry and store information physically. Patients do not have to
keep many physical documents unless need be. In terms of safety, patients' records are well protected in a system.
EMR provides constant access to health records and reduces the possibility of duplications. Therefore, medical
experts are better placed to avoid duplication. The whole process enhances better decision-making as well as
reducing time.
