This is the final SPSS Assignment of the semester. Please note that I have created several SPSS demonstration videos that show step by step how to run the statistical analyses needed to complete this assignment. Please make sure to watch all the SPSS videos available in the module 9 videos page. A Note About SPSS Assignments... For SPSS Assignments, you will submit a SPSS SPV output file. Please make sure that your SPV output file has your FIU SPSS/Username at the top of the page. For example, the top of my SPV output file is copied below and I have highlighted my username for you to see: GET FILE='C:\Users\amyhyman\Downloads\Chapter 4 Data Set 1.sav'. *This is an individual assignment; each student must submit their own original work. Turning in another student's answers or output file is considered academic misconduct and will be reported to the University. This is why it is very important to make sure your username is included in the SPV file. Instructions For SPSS Assignments, please make sure to include both the questions and your responses within a WORD doc. I will deduct 5 points from your assignment for not including the questions. Each student should submit one SPV file with their assignment output and one Word doc with the responses to the questions. Part 1 Using Chapter 11 Data Set 5 complete the following in SPSS: 1. Conduct an independent samples t-test and save the results to an SPV output file. Answer the following in a Word document. 2. From the output, write the result of the t-test in APA format (i.e., p value, test statistic, result/obtained value, df, etc.) 3. For the variable Score, what is the mean for group 1? What is the mean for group 2? 4. Based on the results from this t-test would you reject the null hypothesis? Why or why not? Explain your answer. 1. To save your SPSS output for this assignment to one SPV file simply keep your SPV file open when you switch to the next SAV data file. SPSS will continue to print the output to the same SPV file as long as only one SPV file is open. Part II Using Chapter 13 Data Set 4 complete the following in SPSS: 5. The Noodle company wants to know what thickness of noodle consumers find most pleasing to their palate on a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being most pleasing and 1 being least pleasing), so the food manufacturer put it to the test. Turns out that there is a significant difference, F(2,57) = 19.398, p < .05. Conduct a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc analysis in SPSS and save the results to your SPV output file. Answer the following in your Word document 6. What pairwise significant differences exist between the three groups? Which groups differ from one another? How do you know? Explain. 7. Which group gave the highest ratings for pleasing the palate? What is the mean for this group? 8. Which group gave the lowest ratings for pleasing the palate? What is the mean for this group? 9. What is the effect size for the F-test? Would this effect size be considered small, medium or large? Explain your answer. Save your SPV output file and upload it to the assignment page along with the WORD doc with your answers.
