been changed, injustices have been exposed and political systems have been changed. Literary tradition is
both written and oral. By way oral telling, civilizations, which existed in the absence of written language,
could pass down stories about themselves (Ismail). In ancient settings, literature was primarily used to pass
down beliefs, traditions, and customs to younger generations.
For an individual, literature gives one a comprehensive preview of human experiences, making it
