Project - Topic
Selection and Purpose
Statement
%
Overall you did a good job on this. As you develop this project, you need to
shift your focus away from diversifying the business to identifying a diversity
problem with the workforce. This project is about identifying and correcting
a problem with diversity such as underrepresentation of women, minorities,
etc. rather than business plan strategy. Additional feedback is attached for
your review. Use this week's outline to shift your focus. Perhaps BofA has a
diversity problem within its workforce you can write about.
Overview of the organization
The organization that I will focus on will be Bank of America that has diverse services
that range from giving loans to its customers, receiving deposits, offering financial services,
credit facilities and acting as a platform for buying and selling of shares. The bank over the years
has been able to thrive and achieve most of its set objectives which are not the case now because
there is the need to be more diverse in mobile banking because the method has been embraced by
most of the banks. The competition in the market is stiff and thus the Bank of America must out
more effort in ensuring that it takes into account apt measures that are going to make it still hold
its position in the market. The bank has at least 150,000 competent employees who risk losing
their jobs if the issue is not looked into with the urgency that it deserves.
The decision-making Process
The problem that is relating to diversity is the issue of increased competition in the
market that is stirred by mobile banking that the organization has not adopted yet. The
organization also has the risk of losing its employees to other well-developed rivals in the
market. The alternatives that are in place are that the bank can employ at least 250 Information
technologists who can help to develop mobile banking for the company. The other choice could
be to open more branches all over the country that will be closer to the customers. The last
alternative could be to reach out to a communication network organization or a mobile
company, that is the most competitive and alias with them to offer the mobile services through
MODULE 1 COURSE PROJECT
2
their network so that the customers do not have to acquire another sim card for the banking
services. Ethical principles will be taken into consideration, regarding confidential information
of the customers (Ford & Richardson, 2013).
The first alternative on employing of IT professionals is applicable but it will be
expensive in the end for the organization will have to incur costs on paying for their labor and
also for maintenance and repair of the systems that the Bank of America operates in the mobile
phones. The second alternative that is the opening of more branches of the bank is a good option,
but it will be time-consuming to identify the most appropriate place to locate the banks and the
costs that will be associated with opening the various banks (Minton et al. 2014). More
employees have to be employed to run the new branches and thus more costs will be incurred by
the organization that will be so strenuous to the management. The last option will call for an
alliance with a mobile operating organization that will incorporate the mobile banking services in
its operations and thus the customers will be able to deposit or withdraw their money any place
and at any time. The best choice could be to have talks with the communication network.
To be able to be more competitive in banking services, then the imperial bank has to
invest its funds in mobile banking, and this is through the association of a mobile services
organizations Google and Android that will engage its customers through installing of the Bank
of America App on their mobile phones. The choice will be implemented through carrying out of
talks with the mobile Company and signing of a contract. The money that is going to be agreed
on for the services will be paid, and the mobile company will install the App in mobile phones.
The Bank of America will then carry out commercials to inform their customers on how diverse
it has become with their services. When the customers access the services, the Bank of America
would have got a competitive edge.
MODULE 1 COURSE PROJECT

Conclusion
The project will be followed up by the management where the concerned parties will be
required to submit reports from time to time to indicate how far they are with the project. The
project has to been assessed so that it is achieved within the desired time frame. The reports that
are submitted will be reviewed so that possible amendments are made. The project will work
only if it exclusively solves the problem that the Bank of America is facing.

The diversity in the present day world is a fact and a thriving reality. Diversity is inherent in the
human societies and communities. The communities are unique and diverse within and without.
The diversity pertains to the existing psychological and virtual divergence in the origins, belief
systems and cultural values of the people forming a community. The parameters of this diversity
in a community also confer the backdrops from which these groups emerge.
This paper will examine the diversity of a certainly given group, how the group handles
differences and how these distinctions add up to the strength of that particular group, making it
more potent and influential. The significance of this research is formative as it discusses the
vitality of the diversity management in organizations, illustrates the affirmative implications, that
each uniquely distinct culture has on the organization, whilst reversing their individualities.
The paper will help me in formatting method of existing approaches that were applied in
the workplace. In the formation of social groups, respect and integration of cultures are very
crucial. It is from respecting other people’s cultures that people learn how to accommodate each
other, for instance in a social group, to achieve a common group. In the United States, for
instance, there exists social groups that respect cultural diversity and background within them,
posturing understanding within such groups, thus peace in the entire community, from a very
integral unit, the social group.
The social group is formed with objectives or common interests such as common
objectives, accepted roles for each to play, a mode of contact among members of the social

group, rules, and regulations, among other related disciplinary measures. All these are
implemented to ensure that the social group operates within the accepted norms of the society
and that they are not in violation of any set rules or norms in the given society.
In a diverse workforce environment, where mismanagement is prevalent the motivation
among the employees is diminished, and the focus on the core objectives and direction towards
to the goals of the organization are lacking. The employees in such a setting with their unique
race, ethnicity, or religion have distinct qualities and skills as result of different education, age,
and experience; are likely to get involved in pointless disagreements, reducing the productivity.

This article will help me in understanding the legal issues involved in diversity are
multifaceted. The Laws that have been created, although initially have help in reducing
discrimination and increasing the workplace diversity, they also acted as a backlash since
although the goal for diversity is common, but the ways implement the strategies and laws to
protect the diversity are always conflicting for different departments and organization. (New
York City Bar, 2012)
As EEOC has promoted work/life initiatives especially for the caregiving of children and
elderly persons, etc., these programs have turned out be another source of discrimination
complaints against employers. The equal treatment and non-discriminatory practices enumerated
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, entail the equality in terms and conditions of
employment, like the implementation of company policies fairly, the benefits and compensations
provided etc.

Press. Community and diversity
This article will help me in understanding the necessity and impact of creating policies to
enforce diversity and managing it well enough for the benefit of the organization and employees
is a big challenge The employee assessments and research data available either from outside or
inside of the organization is a big resource for the organizations to design, customize and
implement diversity management strategies, to expand the advantages of workplace diversity in
that particular organization .
The bigger issue, however, is that some companies adopt a diversity policy only to comply
with the country’s laws, instead of embracing it and acknowledging it as a strength of their
business and creating an acceptance culture in the organization that will make diversities policies
a success. And although it may hire diverse employees, certain higher posts were often held or
given to let’s say white males.
The organizations need to create diversity in the top management of the organization, as
the attitudes towards diversity policies are developed at the top and trickle down to middle and
lower groups of employees.

Although your outline presented the required elements, you're focusing on a business
strategy rather than a diversity problem. If you'll look back to your week 1 paper and
review my feedback, I indicated your focus needs to change to issues pertaining to
women, minorities, etc. at the organization. You should correct this for future project
installments to help improve your grade by lining up the problem with the intent of the
assignment. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Problem
Over the years, the bank of America has been able to thrive and achieve most of its set
objectives, which is not the case now because there is the need to be more diverse in mobile
banking considering the method has been embraced by most of the banks. Furthermore, the
competition in the market is stiff and thus the Bank of America must input more effort in
ensuring that it takes into account apt measures that are going to make it hold its position in the
market.
Failure to Implement the Solution
If my solution is not adopted, there will be jobs lost. This is because the business is impacted the
most by loss of its customers and employees as a result of stiff competition.
PROJECT OUTLINE
3
When The problem Started
The problem started several years ago after diverse mobile banking started began being adopted
by other banks.
Business Implications
The business implications of the problem is stiff competition from the other banks that have
adapted the use of mobile banking. Since most of the banks use diverse mobile banking
technologies, the Bank of America is highly likely to lose its customers to the competition as
customers will go for convenience, which the other banks are offering.
Solution
My proposal to solving the bank’s problem reaching out to a communication network
organization or a mobile company, which is the most competitive and alias with them to offer
the mobile services through their network so that the customers do not have to acquire another
sim card for the banking services.
Criteria for Solution Selection
This is the best solution because it will provide customers with convenience since they will be
able to access banking services using a single sim card. Secondly, it is cost effective to the bank
as they will split cost with the communication network organization or a mobile company instead
of incurring all the costs. Thirdly, the turnover in revenue is expected to go higher as combining

forces with the mobile company or communication network will only attract more customers to
the bank.
Objections
Some of the objections will involve lawsuits from the competition, delays in procedures, and
high costs set by competition to discourage customers from moving or adapting to the services
offered by the collaboration between the bank and mobile company or communication network.
Parties involved in the solution?
Both the bank and the mobile company or communication network need to be involved in the
solution. Additionally, employees of these organizations need to be involved as they will be the
ones directly guiding or dealing with the customers.
Resulting Benefits
By collaborating, the Bank of America will be in a better position to serve its customers and
avoid losing them to its competitors. Also, the jobs of the 150,000 employees will not be at stake
as the Bank will not have to reduce their workforce, but rather increase.
Why Implement the Solution now
The solution has to be implemented now because all the banks have already adapted to diverse
mobile technologies meaning that every second they lose without implementing the solution can
cost them several customers.
The Plan
PROJECT OUTLINE
5
To be able to be more competitive in banking services, then the imperial bank has to invest its
funds in mobile banking, and this is through the association of a mobile services organizations
Google and Android that will engage its customers through installing of the Bank of America
App on their mobile phones. The choice will be implemented through carrying out of talks with

of America will then carry out commercials to inform their customers on how diverse it has
become with their services. When the customers access the services, the Bank of America would
have got a competitive edge.
Resources Needed
The resources needed will include set technological infrastructures that will most likely be
provided by the mobile company or communication network at an agreed cost.
Challenges to be Overcome
The challenges that have to be overcome while implementing the plan are basically cost that will
be used to pay for labor and training for the bank employees.
Measuring Success
A control method for evaluating the success of the plan is how responsive customers are towards
the services provided. Also, success can be measured by the number of new customers that the
bank will be serving compared to the number they served previously.
Conclusion
PROJECT OUTLINE
6
In conclusion, the Bank of America will be at better position to serve more customers and retain
their employees if they are to collaborate with a mobile company or a communication network.
Additionally, the bank will be better as they will be able to hold their position as being the best
bank considering they will be providing their customers with convenience services since they
will be able to access banking services using a single sim card. The implementation of the
solution by the bank is cost effective as they will split the costs with the communication network
organization or a mobile company instead of incurring all the costs. Lastly, the banks turnover in
revenue is expected to go higher as combining forces with the mobile company or
communication network will only attract more customers to the bank.

Creating an Organizational Culture
Introduction
Use this section as an introduction to provide an overview about organizational culture
and how treating employees properly or improperly can set the tone/atmosphere of the
organization. Set the reader up for the discussion to follow.
First Company Researched
Name the first organization you researched and provide a brief overview of the business.
After reviewing its corporate website, discuss your findings regarding culture and diversity. In
addition, identify at least two strengths and two weaknesses based on the company’s website as it
pertains to the impression you get regarding its culture and its position on diversity. This would
be a good opportunity to incorporate research that speaks to this organization’s culture and
diversity initiatives.
Second Company Researched
Name the second organization you researched and provide a brief overview of the
business. After reviewing its corporate website, discuss your findings regarding culture and
diversity. In addition, identify at least two strengths and two weaknesses based on the company’s
website as it pertains to the impression you get regarding its culture and its position on diversity.
This would be a good opportunity to incorporate research that speaks to this organization’s
culture and diversity initiatives.
Compare and Contrast
CREATING AN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
3
Now that you have researched two organizations and identified strengths and weaknesses
pertaining to each, describe at least two similarities and at least two differences between the two
of them. Based on your analysis, which organization appears to have the most inclusive culture
and why do you have that opinion?
Conclusion
Finally, write a conclusion that summarizes the importance of corporate culture and how
diversity plays a role in shaping workplace attitudes and behavior. Ideally, conclusions should be
at least five (5) sentences in length. Your references will then begin on the last page. Make sure
this paper contains at least two (2) references.
