Question description

Please be sure to review the rubric in the syllabus- this is what your instructor will use to grade the assignment.

Introduction: Each and every day, you are faced with having to make split-second decisions, and the need to solve random problems that you encounter. To reach those decisions and work those problems out you are subconsciously using the scientific method. Apply the steps of the http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/

Next, after you choose an aspect of global warming that interests you, then use the scientific method to help you explain to your family member about that certain aspect of global warming and the evidence that scientists have used to demonstrate that global warming is occurring.

What we recommend that you do is use the steps as heading in your paper. That way you can keep your paper very organized and demonstrates how scientists investigate the aspect of global warming that you chose:

·Ask Question Based on Observations

·Background Research

·Hypothesis (this should be in “If/Then” format. Example: If green house gasses are high, then there is an increase of the surface temperature of the Earth.

·What tests have been done to demonstrate this?

·Results that have been found

·Conclusion – This is where you use all of the steps of the scientific method as a summary to indicate to your family member that global warming is occurring

Scenario 2 :

For this scenario we are going to bring how you use the scientific method to answer a problem that might occur in your home with one of your appliances.

What you will do:

Choose an appliance in your home that you couldn’t live without it could be as big as a deep freezer or AC unit or as small as a curling iron or coffee maker.

Next, imagine that you went to use that appliance and it didn’t work. Nothing, nada, did not turn on! Using the steps of the scientific method, again, as headings, what would you do to figure out what is happening with your appliance?

·Ask Question Based on Observations

·Background Research

·Hypothesis (this should be in “If/Then” format. Example: If my coffee grinder is not turning on, then there might be a problem with the outlet.

·What tests have been done to demonstrate this?

·Results that have been found

·Conclusion – This is where you use all of the steps of the scientific method as a summary to figure out why your appliance is not working.
