Describe the elements of group dynamics and conflict resolution methods, and provide evidence
of your ability to perform efficiently and effectively as an HR professional. Section 2 must be
based on a recent or current project (large or small) which you have led - or in which you have
taken a leading role, or been part of the project team.
1-Describe the elements of Group Dynamics and why it is important to understand this from an
HR perspective. You should make reference to a model of group processes explaining how this
may be used to identify and manage group dynamics. (AC1.2) (approx 400 words)
The study, analysis, and comprehension of the behaviors and psychology underlying
group interactions are group dynamics. Intragroup dynamics (interactions inside a social group)
and intergroup dynamics (interactions between social groups) are usually distinguished in the
area (intergroup dynamics). The concept behind this region is that the whole is more complicated
than the sum of its parts (Gençer, 2019). Understanding how groups function has a significant
impact on society’s structure and public policies. A better knowledge of what drives teams, what
kind of individuals make up successful teams, and what hinders team performance may help
companies make better HR decisions and build a more productive, happier workforce.
When there is a positive dynamic in a group working toward a shared purpose, each
member will perform well and meet the group’s objectives. This uses the GRIP model, which
stands for Goals, Roles, Interpersonal, and Process. The GRIP Model’s initial aspect is the
development of teams and individual goals. Some basic objectives will already be in place in the
organization’s current business plan strategy. If they do not need to be reinvented, it is more
important to break them down into meaningful Goals for each team and then for individuals. The
GRIP Model may be utilized throughout the planning cycle to start a new financial year or as a
chance to reorganize. When a team has underperformance issues, such as bad conduct, conflicts
in team dynamics, and individuals going in different ways, it’s often because crucial time was
not spent early (Gençer, 2019).
Poor group dynamics may have a detrimental impact on performance, failing to meet the
shared aim or project’s objectives. Within a group, strong leadership is critical. This does not
imply that a manager must harass or force their staff to stay in control. A leader should guide a
group’s growth and the route to the desired outcome (Mohanty, 2018). They may accomplish so

by establishing defined roles and duties for group members, as well as a timetable for the shared
project so that everyone knows where they stand in the timeline.
HR should also be aware of how individuals influence team dynamics. Each member in a
group brings their personality and skillset to the table. Recognizing each individual’s work style,
motivation, and aptitude level may assist a manager in determining how that person fits into the
group...
