Impact Actors and Athletes are Paid Too Much
Introduction: In our society, most people believe doctors, teachers, police officers, and
firefighters are professional that should earn top dollars. While making such conclusions that the
considered the nature of the duties performed by the people in these occupations and the value or
impact they have on development and growth of America. However, the reality is that those who
earn most in this country are actors and professional athletes. Individuals that wake up every
morning to condition their body by either going to the gym or skipping certain meals so as to
entertain others are the ones making millions of dollars every day. The unfortunate thing about
the situation is that firefighters who risk their lives to people from disasters in their homes or
other parts of society, sometimes including these actors and athletes during their performances
can barely afford the college tuition fee of their child. It is totally unfair that the cost of educating
this individual to earn huge sums of money is almost nothing compared to what the teacher
would require in order to sustain his or her family for a year.
Thesis statement: There is a need for a review of collective desire to be entertained by
professional athletes and actors that are driving the wages and compensation of these
professionals to the extent they are more than what they deserve to keep people happy.
Issue 1: Actors and professional athletes require lots of practice and hard work to achieve
success in their professions.
Rebuttal with Counterarguments: However, the issue with this argument is that the doctors,
lawyers, teachers, and police officers go through the same rigor to perform their duties. They
also spend years undergoing training and acquire skills that would enable them to deliver the
right instructions to future generations in the classroom, diagnose the health condition and

prescribe appropriate medications, or engage criminals in dangerous situations that could result
in their death.
Issue 2: The debate about the high wages of professional athletes and actors is irrelevant and
unnecessary when one considers the extent of the impact of their performance.
