The Minoan society occupied the Island of Crete, Greece. It is believed that a huge volcanic
eruption in the island of Thera left a huge crater. The eruption led to flattening of Minoan
cities, heavy tides resulting from the eruption whipped the Minoan navy, and the poisoning
of crops by the falling volcanic ash.
