The patterns in the United States from the past elections prove that women, black people,
and other minorities such as gays, lesbians, and people of Hispanic origin have been
discriminated against in the United States.

However, in recent times, their representation has increased in the United States
Congress.

On the other hand, gays and lesbians are currently also represented in Congress. The
number has grown to about seventeen percent from the previous years, meaning
improvements compared to the past.

Despite the recent rise in the representation of minorities in the United States Congress,
the figures prove that many of the members of Congress are from the majority.

Moreover, the underrepresentation is caused by stereotypes among the American
