Review and assess the interview questions used by the Southwood School District. Develop a report in which you present your assessment.

First, look at each of the questions asked and assess/evaluate or determine which ones are important and which ones are not. Explain which ones should remain and which ones should be eliminated and provide a clear argument to support your suggestions. Use references to support your assessment.

Second, as part of this report, develop five additional questions that you believe should be asked by the principal and HR manager when selecting a new employee. Using references, provide supporting rationale to explain the five additional questions and any changes to existing questions. This assignment should be between 4-5 pages. Cite sources using APA format. Use a minimum of 3 to 4 references.

While recruiting new employees, it is always advisable that one should design
interrogative questions geared towards evaluating skills, experience, and intelligence, social and
cultural responsiveness of the candidate to the workplace. In this regard, it is deemed effective to
evaluate the interview questions that are asked by the Southwood School District when tasked
with the role of recruiting a new teacher. Essentially, some questions are well formatted and aim
at exploring the professionalism of a teacher and how effective they will help to find a competent
candidate. However, some are not properly asked and their roles are deemed null and void.
Therefore, it is vital to examine the strong the weakest questions as focused in this paper.
The first question by the principle “why did you apply for this job?” is considered a
strong question. This is because it is asked even before other questions are brought to the table
thus it helps to check the confidence of the applicant and their view and interest in the job as well
as the entire organization. Additionally, the second question is also considered a strong one
since it is focused on garnering the applicant perspective of the school and their basic
information about it. From the response to this question, one can tell how such an applicant is
connected with the school and how well he or she understands the school environment, and core
activities(Milner, 2016). The next question which is considered a strong one is “why did you
decide to pursue a career in teaching?” this is a well framed question which examines the main
motive of the applicant in the job. In this case, the most appropriate answer should be related to
love an interest on this professional. However, the second last question in this section regarding
“What are your strength and weaknesses?” is weak and should be dropped. This is because the
