Certain matters are likely to present us with more gray zones than others. Abortion is
a key example of these issues. It is the voluntary termination or miscarriage of a pregnancy
by selected form of human involvement. The abortion argument relates to the rights and
wrongs of intentionally terminating a pregnancy before it terms ends, murdering the unborn
child in the process. It is a distressing subject for men and women who experience the moral
dilemma of whether to keep or end a pregnancy. Abortion is largely one of the differentiating
issues in society today with a high number of people being on one side or the other, while a
small number is uncertain. When raising the issue of abortion, there is one of two
perspectives that people assume, including pro-life and pro-choice. While discussing prolife, people have the belief that women should not have the capability to terminate a
pregnancy as it represents murder. On the other hand, pro-choice views advocate for the
pregnant woman to have the right to choose whether to terminate the pregnancy or carry it to
full term, as she is justified in deciding what to do with her body. However, most people
partially support either of these perspectives. In spite of the above, it is noteworthy that
abortion holds many more delicate issues. For instance, someone who is raped and resultantly
becomes pregnant cannot be compared with someone who had unprotected consensual sex.
Likewise, a pregnancy which endangers the life of a mother, or a baby whose deformity
hinders their quality of life are some cases which the medical practitioner can consider
