The journal selected is titled “Nursing students' perceptions of peer learning through
cross‐cultural student‐led webinars: A qualitative study” written by Carlson and others.
Authority in a journal article entails looking at the credibility of the article's author. There are
some instances where an anonymous staff reporter may write an article for a magazine or
newspaper. When no author is specified, the article's authority is determined by the publisher's
reputation or creator of the material. Examine a website's domain to establish the authority of the
source. Some websites are more tightly regulated than others. Within qualitative research,
authority refers to the claims that characters in the research process, most notably the researcher,
make to speak/write about the social process or phenomena being researched in the way they do.
The authors of this article have established authority in their work by presenting their thoughts
with ease, preciseness, and confidence (Carlson et al., 2019). This study involves reflecting on
how authority has been established in the journal on the perceptions of peer learning among
nursing students due to cross-cultural student-led webinars.
