Explanation & Answer

(c)

For Population B

Rate of change = (125-0)/(1-0) =125 for year 0 to 1

Rate of change = (250-125)/(2-1) =125 for year 1 to 2

Rate of change = (375-250)/(3-2) =125 for year 2 to 3

Rate of change = (500-375)/(1-0) =125 for year 3 to 4

For Population A

Rate of change = (290-0)/(1-0) =290 for year 0 to 1

Rate of change = (250-290)/(2-1) =-40 for year 1 to 2

Rate of change = (200-250)/(3-2) =-50 for year 2 to 3

Rate of change = (500-200)/(1-0) =300 for year 3 to 4

(d)

For population B , population grew consistently at  a rate of 125 million per year

For population A, growth is not consistent
