WORK LIFE CHANGES
In essential ways, emotional and social functioning slightly changes with age. There is no
point in one’s life, will their need to feel entrenched in a greater social group diminish, nor do the
overwhelming consequences of segregation lessen. Strong and intense feeling remain and the
integrity of the constellation of facial, physiological and subjective feelings related with
particular emotions remains what it was in the youthful working days. Although there has been
documentation of modest changes, individual traits remain largely stable into later adulthood.
Again in late life, like the earlier days, the experience of adverse emotions impacts physiological
functioning and eventually physical health making one unable to continue working (Tausig,
2013). However, these results may not apply to everybody, some people may show social
changes in life, but their emotions remain intact. This paper examines how work life changes and
how people plan for their retirement.
The Holland Theory and Career Choice
The subject I interviewed understands this theory perfectly well. His name is Andrew,
and he is currently a music producer, but in his youthful days, he was a recording artist. His
career choice fits his personality, and this has clearly helped him succeed in his career.
