Considering my entry behavior in weeks one, I had little knowledge concerning information systems in healthcare. In week one, much had not been done, and I was optimistic that this course would benefit me both at school and in practice. Therefore, I concentrated much on the concepts presented and made sure that I understood them because they are the main pillars of the information system in nursing. So far, I have learned a lot concerning the patient’s safety, the knowledge that I did not have before. I have realized the meaning and importance of standardized terminology in a caring environment, such as HIPAA. Ideally, a patient’s safety is not all about providing medication and other healthcare-related activities, but it also involves safeguarding them. On a different note, telecommunication is equally important because of the flow of communication between health caregivers and patients.
