The American Society comprises of diverse ethnic groups ranging from the whites,
African Americans, Asians, Hispanics and Native Americans. The nonnative’s in America over
an extended period have been faced with a challenge of maintaining their cultural identities due
to various institutional policies that don't provide a conducive environment for practicing one's
culture. This paper aims to describe how the education policies have caused assimilation of
