Description
Should I get a salt water or fresh water fish tank
Explanation & Answer
Hello!
Me and my boyfriend have a fresh water tank and we chose to get a fresh water tank over a salt water tank for many reasons. I would have loved to buy a salt water tank for one main reason- there are so many amazing and beautiful fish that are salt water, also when you go to the pet store it seems like they have a wider selection of salt water fish in comparison to fresh water. I just think overall salt water tanks look cooler. However, the reason we got a fresh water fish tank is because of the costs. A salt water fish tank is a lot more costly simply because of the care requirements that go into having a salt water fish tank. You need to purchase a number of vitamins and other supplements as well as kits to test the water. You also need a sea salt mix as well as a hydrometer. I dont know all the details but I know when I looked into what you need for a salt water fish tank it was a lot more in comparison to the fresh water fish tank which is much easier to manage. So I guess what I am trying to say is if you have the money by all means go for the salt water fish tank because there are so many cool salt water fish that you can adopt. However if you dont have a lot of money in your budget but you still want a fish tank, go for the fresh water you will still enjoy it.
I hope this was helpful!
