Write 6 journals, in each journal choose 6 quotes and reflect on each quote. Make sure that you make connections between personal , professional experience and the readings. Make connections between the assigned readings and other readings and cite them according to APA style. When you reflect, make sure that you make links to your (personal experiences, professional experiences as an early childhood teacher and educator, second language acquisition, sociocultural theory, experiences and identities as a researcher).

“The oppressed, having g internalized the image of the oppressor and adopted his
guidelines, are fearful of freedom” (P.47)
This depicts that when they eject the oppressor image in their mind, they will no longer
attempt to seek their liberty
“The oppressed suffer from the duality which has established itself in their innermost
being “(P.48)
Oppressed will realize that they cannot have full happiness without freedom but they will
fear seeking it.
“Liberation is childbirth and a painful one” (p.49)
When seeking liberation, there will be obstacles but when achieved, it will be a new
experience.
“Discovering himself to be an oppressor may cause considerable anguish, but it does not
necessarily lead to solidarity with the oppressed” (P.49)
It is a bad feeling when oppressor discovers himself but he cannot free himself from
oppressor.
Reality which becomes oppressive results in the contradistinction of men as oppressors
and oppressed (P. 51)
Oppressing is a cruel act but when reality set in, both oppressor and oppressed will be in
a contradiction because they will be confused to which direction they should move.

A different type of false perception occurs when a change in objective reality would
threaten the individual or class interests of the perceiver (P.52)
When reality set in, oppressor and oppressed can continue with their activities but still
reality will be haunting them. Also, they can decide to accept reality.

“The truth is, however, that the oppressed are not "marginal," are not people living g
"outside” society. They have always been "inside", inside the structure which made them "beings
for others." The solution is not to "integrate" them into the structure of oppression, but to
transform that structure so that they can become "beings for themselves." Such transformation.”

This shows that, oppressed are people like other only that they are regarded by oppressors
as marginalized people.
