What is in a Name of an Ethics Code?
A code of conduct is a document that shows the expected behavior of employees in a
firm, they are required to sign it upon recruitment, at which point it becomes a legal document. A
company’s ethics document can affect the attitude of the people reading it as it reflects on the
things that the company considers as important to them. It also shows the seriousness that the
leadership of the company has. The purpose of the code of ethics is to develop, give direction
and maintain the acceptable behavior in a company (Gonzalez-Padron, 2016). The overall
message conveyed is the fundamental principles and values that the company possesses.
