Confucius was born in Shandong Province, China in the year 551 B.C.He was an
influential philosopher in China and a well-renowned teacher and an outstanding political figure.
His teachings mainly focused on creating best ethical models of family and public interaction
and setting tutorial standards. During the sixth century B.C, traditional Chinese principles began
to deteriorate due to moral decline that arose from the fall of Chou Empire (Angle & Stephen,
2012).It is at this time when Confucius recognized an opportunity to reinforce the societal values
of compassion and tradition. Confucius is remembered for writing and editing most of the
influential traditional Chinese classics which included the reworking of the Book of Odes and
additionally a correction of the recorded Book of Documents. He is likewise credited for
compiling a historical account of the 12 dukes of Lu known as the Spring and Autumn Annals
(Angle & Stephen, 2012).
