Introduction
Psychiatric assessment and diagnosis differ significantly from other medical assessments.
In psychiatric assessment it is important to take historical information from the patients, examine
their mental condition, and the assessment must be foundationally therapeutic. Further, a
psychiatric assessment is based on an evaluation established through a diagnostic tool (Rainy,
2018). Typically, the device assesses and diagnoses memory issues, thinking processes, and
outward behaviors. Further, the agency may help in the recovery process of the patient through a
continuous assistance program.
A psychiatrist may request various samples taken during an assessment and diagnosis for
a complete analysis of the patient's issue. For instance, a psychiatrist may ask for a complete
blood test, brain scan, and urine scan to further understand the physical state (First, 2020). Also,
one may be required to offer information based on their components of consumption and
experiences with side effects of such features. The analysis helps attain a comprehensive
understanding of the patient's condition and appropriate means to respond to the problem.
