The U.S. healthcare system is more developed as compared to other countries. This is
inclusive of the qualification and experience that their workers have in the provision of
healthcare. The system is unique since the United States lacks the Universal Health Coverage
(UHC) that most developed and developing countries have adopted. The financing of healthcare
is done in three ways. Either through the employer who pays premiums to an insurance company
to cover the employee, through the Medicaid and Medicare Government insurance programs, or
self-funding from the individuals' out-of-pocket budget (Jones & Bartlett, 2017). The United
States has adopted a technology-focused healthcare delivery system that focuses on short-term
care (Jones & Bartlett, 2017). Technology has prominently improved care delivery and the level
of competition between the major stakeholders in healthcare. This has also enhanced
advancement in medicine through the innovation of new means of treating diseases such as
cancer.
The U.S. government has a mere role in the healthcare system while the private sector
dominates and plays a more significant role (Jones & Bartlett, 2017). This means that there is
