Please explain the difference between a Pest-C analysis and the 4 P's of Marketing.

A Pest-C analysis may also be referred to as an Environmental scan. Basically an environmental scan is the process of identifying external environmental factors that affect marketing successes. There are 5 categories that are used to create an environmental scan:

P-Political/Global Factros

E-Economic Factors

S-Socio-cultural factors

T-Technological Factors

C-Competitive Factors

The four P's are internal in a business as compared to the Pest-C which is an external scan.

The Four P's create a marketing mix that makes up a marketing program for a business. They are product, price, place, and promotion.
