A number describing the possible outcomes is the same here in the U.S. as it is in India, Australia, or anywhere. The calculations used by NASA to launch satellites and manned aircrafts is the same math used in the Russian space program. This is what it means to me when I think about statistics as the language of science. Scientists worldwide can share and translate studies when it’s based in numerical data. Science is exact, just like statistics. Languages are distinct to geographic regions and can form barriers for those who travel outside of the area where their tongue is most prevalent. This is not the case when speaking in numbers.
