Alibaba Company Management
Alibaba group of companies, which was started by Jack Ma in 1999 is an ecommerce
website dedicated in providing business to business, business to consumer and consumer to
consumer linkages over their platform (Chanttel and Rashad 50). Their management
structure, values and organizational culture are the major factors attributed to their global
explosion and rapid growth. These have steered the company to become the world leading
retailer in 2016, surpassing amazon and Walmart in comparison. This makes Alibaba
company management strategy and structure unique and vital for learning. This essay
discusses Alibaba company management strategies as outlined in the journal article by
Chanttel and Rashad as published in 2015.
According to the article by Chanttel and Rashad (51), Jack Ma has implemented many
changes in his management styles over the years from time to time to fit in the rapidly
changing ecommerce sector. At first Jack Ma employed autocratic management style, which
