infectious patients; airborne precautions; and adequate treatment of suspected and
confirmed cases (CDC, 2016).

There were a documented 9563 TB cases in 2015 and 9421 TB cases in 2014 (Salinas,
2016)



There is an increase in MDR-TB cases (Salinas, 2016).



The cost of treating generic strain of TB is approximately $18,000 compared to MDR-TB
$494,000 (Salinas, 2016)



The highest cause of mortality in people infected with HIV is TB (CDC, 2017)
