In which direction is the North celestial pole from Earth? south
The observatory on Mauna Kea is at 19° 49′ 35″ North, which makes it closer by far to the equator than the other sites listed.
To see *all* of the sky you would ideally want a telescope on a high point in a dry location at the equator, although practical viewing of the Northern and Southern celestial poles would be very limited.
