Block grants
A block grant is a huge sum of money given by the national government to the regional
government with general provisions as to the way it is to be spent. It allows the recipient of the
grant more authority to determine how to use the granted funds to meet a program goal in a
broader way (Shefali Luthra and Kaiser, 2017). The disadvantages of block grants are; if the
costs of the state exceed the block grant amount, it is forced to use its own funds to cover the
difference or either cut the services for residents with low-income. This limits the growth of an
organization Again, in order to counter the claims of the proponents; block grants fail to give
states added flexibility with their programs of Medicaid. Furthermore, it makes it more difficult
for states in serving the health care needs of the residents. The advantages of block grants is that,
they give an allowance to the regional governments to make experiments in different ways of
how to spent money with a same goal in mind. Again, the federal government has the authority
to set how faster the amount they are entitled to will increase with time, despite how fast medical
spending grows. Examples of block grants are; Community Development Block Grant and
Social Service Block Grant.
Employment grants
Employment grants are grants given by the government to help employers in training
existing or new employees for jobs which require a filling system. It is purposely designed in
