In the modern society, racism in our society is one of the persistent evils and most
baneful in preaching for unity. Claudia Rankine in her life has tried to express the atrocities
caused by racism in our society. Rankine in most of her work has portrayed racism as an evil and
baneful in strive for equality. The essence of this paper is to examine most of her prominent
quotations and predict what she really insinuates.
Quotes
Rankine states that "because white men can't police their imagination black men are
dying" from my own point of view is true. Rankine in this context wanted to portray the
suffering black people are facing in the hands of white man (Rankine). As depicted in the text,
the black people are undergoing through hell if I may call it. The atrocities the black people are
passing through are heartbreaking. This connotation by Rankine further implies that the black
people are not getting an opportunity to express themselves because they are regulated by the
white people. Black people have no freedom to express out their grievances on how the society
